Looking to get more involved with the Section?

We have been approached as a Section to host the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival. For those of you that don’t know the VIMFF is similar to the Banff Mountain Film Festival. The BMFF is hosted in town every year by the Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce and sells out three nights of shows consistently. The VIMFF could be a great revenue generator for our Section. The current Board Members simply don’t have the time to pull this off alone. If you think you may want to take this on or are able to help in any way please let us know.

New Summer 2020 Courses and Trips being added soon!

Hello Section Members.

Up until now we have been reluctant to offer spring and summer courses and trips in light of the current COVID situation. Since the pandemic outbreak began in March we have been in contact with the National ACC office and have been following their lead in our decision.

We now feel confident that we can safely offer some courses and trips following National ACC AND local COVID guidelines.

It is now with great pleasure that we are starting to add courses and trips for the summer 2020 season. Stay tuned to the website as we start to post them.

Looking forward to safely sharing in summer adventures!

Support Needed for CBT Grants

Youth Program and Jordan River Trails
Our ACC Section needs your vote in support of TWO Grants from Columbia Basin Trust (CBT).
The first grant we applied for is in support of our Youth Program. To help purchase youth equipment etc. The second grant is in support of legitimizing the informal Jordan River Trails.
There is long list of applicants in Revelstoke for CBT grants. Selection of recipients is influenced by number of residents supporting a given grant application SO, PLEASE invest 5 minutes and put your support behind your club’s applications.
To do so just follow this link and
under “Please select a project on which you would like to provide feedback”. pick from the drop down list “Alpine Club of Canada – Columbia Mountains Section”.
Then under “Do you approve of this project?” click on “Yes”.
You may also provide your reasoning in the next text box.
After that click on +ADD and repeat the above this time selecting from drop down list “Alpine Club of Canada (Columbia Mountains Section) – Jordan River Trails System”.
We need your VOTE. You may also ask your friends to vote.
Thank You!

Update and Live Presentation

As you can imagine we are all eager to get into the mountains. Climbing season is just around the corner but right now it is important to stay home. We will be resuming club activities as soon it is deemed appropriate. In the meantime we have organized a live you tube presentation put on by a local physiotherapist to help you with your climbing game. Have a look at our trip page for details.
