Trips and Events

To promote our section we will have member trips that will be beginner, intermediate and advanced based.  Youth programs will be included in this. We will organize volunteer trail, hut, or other maintenance work parties. There will be opportunities for personal development training courses with local ACMG Guides or with more experienced trip leaders for mentorship. Training and Leadership Programs will be on our top priority to educate trip leaders and members who are interested in furthering there mountain skill set.

  • November 28th – Avalanche Canada Staying Alive Night @ the Revelstoke Community Centre 5 pm. Come on out and say hello. We will have a booth set up to talk about our section and why you should become a member!

April 2019

  • April 13th – 14th – Glacier Travel Workshop. Trip Leader – Dave Healey. Contact healey.dave@gmail.com to sign up. Saturday will be a mix of classroom and rope work at local crag. Sunday will be a ski trip up to some ice at Rogers Pass to practice skills.
  • April 13th – Section Evening Social. Come out and meet the members of the Section. Time and place to be announced.
  • April 26th – 29th – Advanced Ski Mountaineering Trip. Trip Leader – Dave Healey. Contact healey.dave@gmail.com to sign up. 6-8 participants.  4 day trip based out of Bow hut.  Objectives will depends on interest.

  • June 15th – ‘Respect the Mountains’. Mark your calendars. For this national ACC initiative involving all 24 regional ACC sections we will be selecting a local crag or trail and host a volunteer clean up day.
